Last month, VUB and Resolia partners presented to the Citizens4PED consortium their works and findings regarding the optimisation tool developed to optimise the design of a PED energy center, as part of the extended WP3 scope.
When aiming at transforming a neighbourhood into a Positive Energy District, many techno-energetic options may flood on the stakeholders table, such as possible energy sources, energy distribution options or personal users preferences, often leading to high complexity into choosing the right option.
We developed this « Pareto optimisation tool » to help stakeholders choosing amongst various techno-energetic possibilities, with a clear view on the impact of each choice that they are going to make, depending on their financial capabilities and the objectives they want to achieve.
A scientific paper describing the developed tool has been submitted to the international, peer-reviewed journal Energy & Buildings, and is currently under review.
Here is an extract of the preliminary results presented. Full results to be found in our final report.
